Claudia’s husband. Runs a charming downtown gift shop. Generally chill and dependable.

THE RENTERS
BRITT

Outspoken and purpose-driven. Fierce advocate for social justice. After a lot of moving around, she’s ready to dig in, connect, and fight for her community.
CONNER
Male-identifying, 20s.
Britt’s boyfriend. Works in an Amazon warehouse and is always navigating life’s uncertainties. Sensitive and earnest. Feels most at ease when surrounded by people who take him under their wing. Definitely appreciates Claudia's open-door (and fridge) policy.
LUKE
Male-identifying, 20s–30s.
Conner’s roommate. An artistic free spirit — a sculptor who sees the world differently. Easygoing and non-attached, he’s just as comfortable couch-surfing as he is creating something from nothing.
ALICE
Female-identifying, 60s–70s.
Former high school PE teacher. Strong-willed and fiercely protective of the underdog. Cuts through nonsense with honesty and conviction. Believes deeply in fairness and community accountability.
Synopsis: A condominium board president tries to keep calm when a blizzard traps her and a group of her eclectic neighbors inside their downtown apartment building. But the snow outside may be nothing compared to the storm brewing within: in an effort to raise property values, the apartment owners may vote to ban renters, leaving some of the residents permanently out in the cold. ‘Hyenas’ asks, in these times of economic uncertainty, are we obligated to balance our financial stability with the needs of others? And does it matter if the cost of our peace of mind is a hardship to our neighbor?
