Best friends Catherine and Gwen go their separate ways at the end of grad school: Catherine becoming a prominent feminist theorizer in New York, while Gwen becomes a wife and mother. 20 years later the two women cross paths and realize a yearning for the other’s life. They compete for the love of Don, Catherine’s ex-boyfriend and Gwen’s husband. An unflinching look at three generations of gender politics.
