Veronica Sawyer was never particularly popular, but with a little work she finds herself in the middle of the most popular and most ruthless group of girls at Westerberg High, the Heathers (the original ‘mean girls’). However everything changes when she meets J.D., the bad boy new kid who sets out on a quest to set the bullying social system straight…no matter the cost. On stage, Jolene won Grand Awards for her performances as Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray (Civic Theatre) and Dana Fielding in The Sweetest Swing in Baseball (Actors' Theatre). She has also been seen locally in [title of show] (Actors' Theatre); Evita, Steel Magnolias, Sweet Charity (Circle Theatre); 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Civic Theatre); Mother F*cker With A Hat (Mixed Roots Collective) and nationally in The Sound of Music, The Pirates of Penzance, Tommy, Carousel, A Christmas Carol (PCLO); Nine (Pittsburgh Playhouse); The Music Man, A Chorus Line, South Pacific, Bye Bye Birdie, (Cherry County Playhouse); Saturday Night Live (NBC Studios); as well as in the World Premieres of Red (Pittsburgh Playhouse) and Crash Club (Cherry County Playhouse).
Scott began his performance career at age 15, and has studied at Interlochen, EGRHS, GRCC and GVSU. Scott has performed before presidents Bush, Reagan, Ford, PM Margaret Thatcher, Queen Beatrix (NDL), and has worked on projects that have included Martin Short, Kevin Nealon, Alan Zweibel (SNL), Jay Leno, and Tony Randall. Scott has produced work for Actors’ Theatre, Heritage Theatre Group, GVSU, Aquinas College, Circle Theatre, Jewish Theatre Grand Rapids, and West Michigan Jazz Society. Scott’s repertoire of work includes: Evita, Chess, Spamalot, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, The Wedding Singer, Chicago, Next To Normal, Spring Awakening, Honk!, Little Shop Of Horrors (Grand Award), Reefer Madness, Rent, Altar Boyz, Hello Muddah, Esther, Smokey Joe’s Café (Grand Award), Love,Perfect,Change, Pippen, and Ain’t Misbehavin’. He has also written and directed several original and concert version shows, including, Let’s Twist Again, Shout Somebody, A Bit Of Billie, Let It Be, Jesus Christ Superstar In Concert, Men Of Motown, Divas Of Soul, and The Music Of: Queen, Woodstock, Stephen Schwartz, and Andrew Lloyd Webber in concert. As a freelance vocal talent, Scott’s voice has been heard in many regional jingles and ads over the years. He has been a returning guest artist at Fountain Street Church and St. Thomas the Apostle as well as many other charitable organizations. He has performed in venues throughout the USA, and continues to provide public and corporate entertainment.
