Location: Spectrum Theater at 160 Fountain NE
Performance Dates: October 10-12, 17-19 at 7:30pm; October 13 at 3pm

Audition Requirements: Audition sides and a perusal script are available here. Sides do not need to be memorized but we highly encourage you to be very familiar with the characters and their journeys in order to make specific choices throughout the audition process. Headshots and resumés encouraged. Please be prepared to list any potential schedule conflicts throughout the rehearsal process.

Characters: All roles are open to individuals of all races and ethnicities (except where explicitly prescribed by the playwright), abilities, body sizes, sexual orientations, and socioeconomic statuses. Trans, nonbinary, and genderqueer actors highly encouraged to audition.
Please note that the characters of Julie and Zander should appear their age (13).

Julie – 13. Any race and ethnicity. Looks as much like a child as a middle-schooler can. This is not what she wants.

Dan – Late 30's-40's. Any race and ethnicity. Julie's father.

Zander – 13. Any race and ethnicity. Julie's friend. Made of long bones and acne.

Lisa – Late 30's-40's. Any race and ethnicity. Noelle's mother.

Cloris – 70's+. Any race and ethnicity. An air of mystery and strength around her.

The Cellist – Female presenting. Plays Bach's Cello Suite No. 1, Prelude. If you are a cellist an interested in performing this role, please email us at info@atgr.org

 

Synopsis
A moving and deeply felt story of growing up in our confounding world. After the unthinkable has happened at a middle school in a seaside town, two thirteen-year-olds try to make sense of the chaos they’ve witnessed, their awkward crushes, and an infinitely more complicated future – and the grown-ups are no help at all.
