Seven Passages: The Stories of Gay Christians
Now available for performance and presentation
In 2007, Actors' Theatre premiered the original ethnography Seven Passages: The Stories of Gay Christians. Devised and lead by Dr. Stephanie Sandberg (who also devised 2010's Lines: The Lived Experience of Race), a primary goal was to find a way to move beyond the cultural impasse in the ideological relationship between homosexuality and Christianity. By presenting the authentic stories of local gay and lesbian Christians, Seven Passages moved audiences beyond the rhetoric and in to the realms of empathy and understanding.
Post-performance discussions ("talk-backs") also helped to facilitate the continuation of dialogue outside the theatre.
Seven Passages: The Stories of Gay Christians is now rights-released for production by educational, community and professional theatres. Should your group wish to perform the theatrical version, please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
